DR. CAPIZZI’S DINNER WITH ALLERGAN: Gummy Bears, Seri and Stillwater Patients in National Advertising Campaign
Dr. Capizzi is the leading breast surgeon in Charlotte – and beyond. The media, other surgeons and medical manufacturers often seek out Dr. Capizzi as a breast surgery expert, especially regarding Gummy Bear implants. Last night is a case in point. Dr. Capizzi had a lively dinner meeting with two Allergan executives: Ken Murgia and Tanya Daniels.
Dr. Capizzi recently placed his 700th Gummy Bear implant, making him one of the most experienced Gummy Bear surgeons in the country. The Allergan team was interested in benefiting from this experience, as well as understanding Dr. Capizzi’s perspective on a new Allergan product called Seri. Seri is a “surgical scaffold.” During cosmetic and reconstructive breast surgery, it is often necessary to create an internal bra or scaffold to support the implant and hold it in place over time. Dr. Capizzi is among the first to use FDA-approved Seri in Charlotte. Seri is a natural bio-textile material, actually derived from highly purified silk. Dr. Capizzi (and his patients) is delighted with the results. A highlight of the evening – dessert, so to speak – was a discussion of a new national Allergan Marketing campaign. Eight women will be featured. Last night, Dr. Capizzi learned that THREE of his local Charlotte, NC are in this select group. Stay tuned for more detail soon. In the meantime, congratulations to our three patients and to Dr. Capizzi.
